Our client, a leading technology organisation, is seeking a talented Principal Cloud Network Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Dublin city Hub. As part of this team, you will play a key role in driving the next generation of networking capabilities for the Cloud. From the L7 layer to TCP/IP to hardware reliability, you will have the chance to contribute to projects across the entire network stack.

At our client's organisation, collaboration is at the heart of everything they do. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a diverse group of industry veterans, academic researchers, and PhD student interns. Together, you will collaborate with local teams in Ireland, research centres across Europe, and engineering teams around the world.

You will design, develop, and optimise the next generation of Cloud products; contribute to achieving technical superiority in areas such as QoS, low-latency, and high performance in the cloud network data plane; engage with internal engineering teams and open-source communities through code reviews, patch submissions, technical steering, and more.

Skills:
* Extensive programming experience with C or C++.
* Experience with research or development in areas such as network data plane, network appliances, network device drivers, or kernel development (3 years plus).
* Strong understanding of modern CPU architectures (preferably x86 or ARM) and hands-on experience with performance analysis and optimisation.
* Proficiency in Linux environment and tools.
* Working knowledge of Python, Unix shell, and Git.
- Optional: experience with technologies such as P4, DPDK, Open vSwitch, VPP, or XDP/eBPF.
- Optional: experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Optional: academic/research background in networking technologies.
