Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer in the R&D department will be responsible for designing,
developing, and testing new cooling solutions for data centres. This role requires a strong
foundation in mechanical engineering principles, innovative problem-solving skills, and
the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The successful
candidate will play a key role in advancing our cooling technologies to meet the growing
demands of data centre operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development.
* Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and
user manuals.
* Provide technical support and guidance during the production and
implementation phases of new products.
* Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement
initiatives within the R&D department.
* Work closely with the R&Dlab team to perform performance testing and validation
on prototypes, documenting results and iterating designs based on findings.
* Assist with prototype builds to better understand design and drive improvement.
Key Skills
* Knowledge of HVAC components and systems
* Strong engineering experience in the field of mechanical system design in an OEM
environment.
* Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer
principles.
* Strong abilities in documentation, project management, and organizational skills.
* Experience with prototype development, testing methodologies, and data
analysis.
* Experience with sheet metal design & piping systems design
* Experience with process cooling water systems design
* Experience with refrigeration system design is a significant advantage
* Experience with SolidWorks
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development industry
